It’s been a month now since Elaine had her overdue maternity photo shoot through the help of her ever-dependable friends, aherm (see Pam, Lainey, and me in action here). Said shoot had also become an opportunity for us three to reconnect with Pam.

And just last Saturday, Elaine threw her much-awaited baby shower.

We celebrated the pending birth of Gaia Lee. Wach out, world!

The party was held at Ristorante Bigoli, formerly known as Fazoli’s where I used to have my every-other-day dose of Italian cuisine when I was still working at Eastwood.

The place has definitely improved, but still serves the same old dishes. Lavet.

Sheesh, God forbid baby girl looks like Dora. Or at least, not the hairstyle.

Together, Lainey and I had last-minute shopping for gifts. It was easy-peasy.

Some goodies were displayed as well at the venue.

Oh hey, lookit Daddy! Busy-bee.

But the real busy people at the place were the littlies. Taking their photos (using Lainey’s DSLR) was no picnic.

Like they never seemed to have any low-bat moments. On the other hand, I managed to take a few decent photos of them.

This doll-eyed munchkin reminds me of the doll eye contact lens I got from Sandy. She’s a Korean optometrist and ordered a pair for me from Korea. How nice of her. I don’t wear colored contacts but I tried them on today (for the first time) and oh boy! My own reflection freaked me out. No photos for y’all. Just no.

This rug-rat is Elaine’s first nephew. It took me forever to get a good photo of him. He’s also a doll, ain’t he?

Ah, don’t you just love these sailor booties? This young’un was definitely photographer-friendly. Fine, he was asleep that time.

Well, there you go. Who did you think were the guests of honor?

Lainey and me posing with the soon-to-be parents, Elaine and Sean.

Elaine’s college friends, if I’m not mistaken.

Relatives, yeah!

And some more!

Now, let’s talk about the food. Salad for an appetizer? Just great.

Ooooh, gimme more of that!

Elaine’s maternity photo album was passed around for guests to sign. This was before the games started.

Game 1: Baby Bottle Feeding Contest (Good job, guys!)

Game 2: Measure The Belly (Lainey, are you sure it’s that long?)

Game 3: Baby Food Eating Contest (Dang, I missed this as I was at the bathroom retouching. Gah! I could have won this contest!)

And the winners take it all!

The epic group pic. These people will always be there for Elaine. And Sean. And their little joy. OUR LITTLE JOY!

I’m a proud friend. Always will I be there for her. My old buddy.

And finally, the happiest girl I know says:
